Biography

Dr. Blair has served as faculty in English and Teacher Education since 2005 and currently chairs the English department. She is also developmental curriculum coordinator and graduate coordinator for the MA in English. She has published articles and web projects on contemporary and Young Adult literature as well as academic integrity and writing pedagogy. She has also presented continuing education workshops on teaching writing, academic integrity, young adult literature, adolescent literacy, and developing cross-disciplinary curricula.

Dr. George has served as faculty in the English department since 2009. She is the author of three collections of poetry including The Stopping Places, Desideratum, and The Fragrance of Memory. Her writing has been featured on Verse Daily, The Healing Verse Poetry Line, Seedbed, and Poems for Ephesians (McMaster Divinity College’s project). She also contributed to The Working Poet: 75 Exercises and a Poetry Anthology by Scott Minar and The Christian Husband’s Handbook by Dr. Marvin Gilbert. Her area of specialization in the English department is creative writing, and she serves as the faculty sponsor for Iron Pen, the university’s student writing organization.
