Lady Lions get swept by Southwestern University
Georgetown, Texas- January 30, 2016- The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) softball team kicked off the 2016 season against Southwestern University .聽 The Lady Lions played a doubleheader and lost both games 10-1.
鈥淚t was great to get the season going, saw some good things and also some things we obviously need to work on,鈥 explains first year head coach Sarah Harman, 鈥淚 love the effort and attitude that they displayed.鈥
厂础骋鲍鈥檚 Ashlyn Stanfill went two for four with a double and a stolen base. Kelsey Coburn went one for four with two sac fly RBI鈥檚. Kristin Stringer got a hit and defensively she caught a runner stealing.
In the first game, 厂础骋鲍鈥檚 Hannah Lee pitched all four innings.聽 She had 10 runs off of 12 hits and one strike out.聽 SAGU also picked up eight errors.聽 In game two, Ashley Abair pitched for the Lady Lions.聽 Abair allowed 14 hits and 10 runs.聽 SAGU once again racked up the errors with seven.
On Thursday, February 4, 2016 the Lady Lions will play a doubleheader at Jarvis Christian College .聽 The first game begins at 1pm.
