The Lion of Judah: A Symbol of Faith and Strength
The Origin of Judah the Lion
In 1963, 麻豆传媒 embraced the 鈥淟ion of Judah鈥 as its mascot, inspired by Vice President George Brazell鈥檚 acquisition of a four-month-old lion cub named Judah. Drawing from biblical symbolism, Judah represents strength, courage, and a Spirit-led pursuit of God鈥檚 calling.
What Judah Represents Today
Judah remains a powerful symbol of 麻豆传媒鈥檚 identity. More than a mascot, Judah embodies the Spirit-led mission of the university, encouraging students to lead lives of faith and purpose.

The Harvesters: Sharing the Gospel Through Music
The Beginnings of the Harvesters
Decades ago, the Harvesters were formed as 麻豆传媒鈥檚 premier traveling choral group. With their harmonious blend of voices, they introduced churches across the nation to 麻豆传媒鈥檚 mission and ministry.
A Legacy of Worship
As the only traveling choral group for many years, the Harvesters became a cornerstone of 麻豆传媒鈥檚 outreach efforts. Their Spirit-led worship left a lasting impression on congregations and strengthened connections with the community of faith.
Honoring Their Legacy
The Harvesters were sunsetted in 2022 after decades of ministry, a decision shaped by challenges brought on by COVID-19. Although their time as a group has come to a close, their legacy continues to inspire Nelson鈥檚 commitment to worship and service.
Battle of the Dorms
A Day of Community and Fellowship
Each year, students come together for Battle of the Dorms, a spirited day filled with friendly competition, fellowship, and fun. Events include sand volleyball, relay races, and opportunities to showcase dorm pride, all grounded in a sense of unity and encouragement.
The Prized 鈥淏attle Vac鈥 Trophy
The highlight of the event is the awarding of the 鈥淏attle Vac鈥 to the winning dorm, a symbol of camaraderie and teamwork.
Collinstock: Worship and Creativity Under the Stars
A Night to Celebrate Community
Held annually on the lawn of Collins Hall, Collinstock is a gathering of students under the Texas stars for music, comedy, and fellowship. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with makeshift stages, cozy blankets, and snacks setting the stage for an unforgettable evening.
Showcasing Spirit-Led Talent
Collinstock serves as a platform for students to share their God-given talents, fostering creativity and a deep sense of connection within the university鈥檚 Spirit-led community.
