鈥淪AGU has a worthy mission. It鈥檚 a Kingdom mission.鈥

Dr.聽Kermit聽Bridges, President of Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) , delivered these words in a recent video announcement from the university. SAGU is a mission-minded university with a commitment to 鈥渆quipping the next generation to fulfill God鈥檚 calling for their lives.鈥

Amid fear and uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 global pandemic, Dr.聽Bridges聽says the university holds steadfast in this mission. It plans to resume on-campus teaching and residence life this fall as currently scheduled.

鈥淒uring the school year, our students鈥 energy breathes life into our campus,鈥 said Dr.聽Bridges. 鈥淔rom the roaring sounds of students鈥 cheers in our stands to hundreds worshipping and experiencing God鈥檚 presence in our chapel – these are memories we cherish and the moments that shape us.鈥

鈥淭hat鈥檚 why we couldn鈥檛 be more excited to have students back.鈥

Dr. Bridges聽also expressed the importance of the university鈥檚 responsibility for students鈥 health and safety. This fall, many of the scheduled events may experience changes to follow public health orders and CDC recommendations. But, the university believes the SAGU student experience and culture will remain intact.

The university has already installed and regularly services hand sanitizer stations across campus and significantly increased campus cleaning efforts. Throughout the summer, SAGU will release further details regarding protocols and steps for students鈥 safety on the university鈥檚聽COVID19 update page.

鈥淭his unforeseen pandemic may have altered our lives, but it has not altered who we are. In times of uncertainty, God shows Himself strong in the lives of His people, and I believe He is on the verge of doing something awesome at SAGU.” – Dr. Kermit Bridges,聽President of SAGU

As a leading Christian university, SAGU educates and prepares individuals who want to serve Christ and others. SAGU helps students discover and develop their God-given callings in a Spirit-empowered, learning community.

We believe in affordable tuition, made possible in part through the financial support of donors who embrace the mission of SAGU and the importance of affordable, accredited programs to train Christians for leadership in ministry, business, education, and service.
