Martinez picked up a win in game two and helped the Lions weep Bacone College . 鈥淗e did a great job of commanding the strike zone and getting ahead of hitters in his game this weekend,鈥 explains head coach Sam Blackmon , 鈥淒oing that allowed us to have a great deal of success and ultimately our team was successful because of that.鈥
The freshman pitcher from Galveston, Texas tossed a seven-inning, no hitter in an 11-1 victory over the Warriors. He struck out four batters, walked one and Bacone鈥檚 lone run scored was unearned.
鈥淎ugie has been a diligent and hard worker since he arrived on campus.聽 He is attentive to the purpose of his work day in and day out,鈥 says Blackmon.
The Lions are currently in fifth place in the Sooner Athletic Conference.聽 They have an overall record of 13-20 and a SAC record of 4-5.
